Three tracks deep, Room to Breathe by Takeo.K delivers a belated release on Backtrack.

From the outset, ‘On My Way Home’ directs a late 90’s shoegaze come trip-hop wave that is in no rush towards its destination. ‘Weird War Dub’ echoes Takeo’s hard-wired, industrial work from previous releases. Weaving a tapestry of jittered, anxious emotions that shift into a state of tranquillity.
The EP culminates with ‘Room To Breathe’ - an introspective overtone with moody 90’s guitar work layered against stripped back slow-mo breakbeat that harks back to the melancholy of DJ Krush. The totality of his project pays testament to Takeo’s novel vision. One that is sorely missed on the West Coast.
